Dancing through the Minefields
So I have written before about the song (check out the lyrics here) that Spencer used to ask me out and how it has really become a symbol for our relationship, as well as a reminder to us for why we date and are now getting married. We considered our internships and living 6 months a continent a part one of the minefields we needed to dance through. We consider his being back on campus and my being back home in Iowa as another minefield. Not that they are bad minefields. Just things we have to dance through until we can be together as a married couple for life.
Another minefield coming up for us is that of church interviews for youth ministry positions. We have two in the next two weeks and are new to this whole process. Spence has one this weekend that I am unable to make and one next week that we are going to together. I am a bit scared just because it is a big step and so unknown. But Spence is rolling with it and doing a great job of reminding me that we are following GOD's lead and therefore will be alright.
Will you all pray with Spence, myself and our families over the next few months and especially the next two weeks as we start dancing our way through this new minefield? Pray that we can have wisdom, discernment, guidance and not rush into anything. Pray that we keep our focus on GOD as we seek out His will for our lives as husband and wife. And pray that I have few freak outs and that my fear about all of this becomes nothing.
I will update you once we have gotten through our initial interviews and have begun to see where things are going. Thanks for the prayers. They are much appreciated and cherished.
