Laughter, games, pizza, sodas, Peru
Life is so crazy these days. I am torn between completely loving it here in Peru and being miserably homesick. But God is at work. And this next week is going to be just as busy as last week since we have a team of gringos arriving tonight at 1am. I will be asleep and will meet up with all of them in the morning at breakfast. I am excited to have another team and to see the work Dani, Mike, the team and I put into everything this week. It'll be interesting to see how it all comes together now that I have seen both sides of short-term teams.
I am reading through the Psalms, Proverbs and 1 Kings and am really surprised by the emotion, honesty and at times ridiculousness shown by David, Solomon and their sons. It's interesting to read through David's cries to God and Solomon's words of wisdom. And then see just how messed up things got because of the sin they and their sons committed. Makes me wonder how they were picked out as men after God's own heart despite being sinful and making huge mistakes. And then it makes me wonder how God can look at mankind now and still offer us His grace, salvation, eternal life, and love. It's one of those things that I don't know if I will ever fully understand or be able to wrap my mind around. But I am grateful for it. Forever grateful.
