Isaiah 6 .... "Send me"

My mama is soon going to Africa. My sister's friends recently returned from Mexico and Africa. Two of my friends are in the process of going to and from Africa. And I am trying to be patient before going to Peru. My head is swimming with dreams and expectations for my internship. I have been sending lots of emails and making phone calls to Team Expansion and the missionary I will be mentored by. I have even begun to draft my support letter. It is crazy to think that I have only 10 short months to raise support (both financially and prayerfully) before heading to the nation of Peru, the city of Trujillo and the hurting people of the barrios. I am super excited about the opportunities that await me there. When I talked to my field mentor (the missionary wife I'll be working with the most) for the first time, she said that I will be able to get a good taste of the entire ministry. I will get to go with her and the other female ministry members into the women's prison in Trujillo. I will get to go to the barrios and work with the child sponsorship program. I will get to go into the city and work with the youth group that has been started among the city kids. And so much more awaits me. My heart is beginning to long more and more for Peru. I have never been there and I don't know much about the nation, but I am ready to go and be Jesus' hands and feet there. According to the JoshuaProject (www.joshuaproject.org), Peru has 104 people groups and 5 of them are counted among the world's least reached. And this is where I am committed to going. 10 more months and I will be holding children in my arms that need to be loved. And 10 more months and I will be experiencing something I would never have imagined.... ministry in a whole new way.
