A perfect Sunday...
This past weekend, My Love and I tried out a new restaurant. And let's just say I will not be going back. Within an hour of getting home I was sick with food poisoning. I spent all that night tossing and turning and all day Saturday curled up in bed. Let me just say... It was a rough weekend. Sunday came around and I was still feeling pretty weak and drained. But then my day got better after I got home from church and spent the rest of the day hanging out with one of the sweetest boys in the world.
His family was volunteering at WinterJam as representatives for Holt International and since he had just gotten his tonsils taken out on Friday, he wasn't quite up to spending the night out with lots of people and noise. So he came and hung out with me and Spence. And we had a blast! We played just about every game in our house (including an incredibly hard Wii game). We watched 3 movies. We ate macaroni and cheese and drank vanilla milkshakes (okay, so just he did). We jumped on the air mattress and fell asleep on the couch before his mama came and picked him up. It was a great day and just what I needed after spending a weekend sick in bed.
This little man is one of my favorite little guys in the world. I'm pretty sure he stole my heart within the first 5 minutes of my meeting him almost 2 years ago when we were interviewing at the church. He is a sweetheart who loves dinosaurs, vanilla milkshakes, the zoo, ramen noodles and snuggling. He is one of those kids who loves to hang out with his siblings and to run around with all of the kids at church. He is one of those kids who loves to help his mama and I in our classroom at work (he loves to play with the babies). He is just one of those kids who you can't help but love in an instant and thank GOD that his forever family found him.
I am so grateful that I get to watch him and his siblings grow up. I am so grateful that I get to spend Sundays watching movies and getting killed in Go Fish with him. I am so grateful that I get to know him and watch as GOD writes his story.
