My Siblings - part 2: Sisters (and a niece)
So here is part 2 of my writing about my siblings. I have 5 sisters (4 by birth, 1 by adoption) and a niece. They are truly my best friends. They make me laugh all the time and are always there when I need them to be. Whether its for someone to rant and rave to or to have someone tell me to stop being stupid. I can always count on them. So here they are. My sisters and niece.

Aaryn - one and only older sister:
Of all my sisters.... Aaryn is the one I look up to the most. And not just because she is older than me (and if you know us its not because she's taller than me either... especially since I'm taller than her... hahah). But I look up to her because of what she has endured in life and how she has come out of it all with a faith and a love for life. She has been faced with a lot of different challenges. But she always comes back to the faith she found when she was younger and the love of her husband, daughter and family. She is a kick-butt interpreter for the deaf. And shares the funniest stories and videos related to her job. She works for RIT and a doctor at one of the hospitals. She loves her job and its fun to watch how she can't talk without using her hands in some way. She loves to scrapbook and decorate her house. She used to run track and was in the color guard. She is a person who loves life. And the best thing about her is that she is a huge source of encouragement for those around her. Especially me (but I'm biased). I am so proud of her and I miss her a ton all the time.

Samantha - younger sister #1:
The artsy, youth minister, actress, activist one in the family. She is the perfect combination of those things and is always a blast to be around. She amazes me. Her love for art, ministry, and broken people is evident in every one of her photographs. She sees the world in a way that I don't. I wish I could. But she sees everything differently, through a different lens. Through the lens of a camera in a sense. She is one of those people that just attracts others. People can't help but be drawn to her. She loves everyone to the best of her ability. She went to Milligan in Tennessee for a year and fell in love with the mountains there. Due to different circumstances she now goes to school with me at LCU and isn't so in love with the cornfields. But she is making the best of it. And I am impressed with her for that. It irritates me when I meet someone here at school and get the "Ooh. You're Samantha's sister!" It makes me want to yell. "NO! I was here first!" But I just smile and laugh it off. Happy to see just how many lives my sister has touched. Her dream is to do youth ministry and/or creative arts (i.e. publicity) for a missions organization of some sort. She'll kick butt at it for sure.

Jenai - younger sister #2:
She is the one we call the beauty of the family. All of my sisters are beautiful. Don't get me wrong. But Jenai is just drop-dead gorgeous. She has quite the taste for fashion. She is currently finishing high school but has already started classes at the college of cosmetology at home. She loves it. But gets irritated when we all constantly ask her to do our hair for us. She is the funniest girl you could ever meet. She can tell a story or a joke with a completely straight face but crack everyone up. She is just incredible. She makes my life great all the time. The best thing is when she's in a sassy mood and you get her going on a topic, whether its work or school or fashion. She's fun to watch. Samantha and her do this crazy thing to our mom all the time that just sets our mom into uncontrollable laughter. They stand on either side of her, make their eyes real big and just stare at our mom. It's the funniest thing ever. Jenai is one who is quiet at first. But once you get to know her... you laugh non stop and life seems to just be happier when she is around. She is the beauty and the laughter behind our family in a big way (not that we arent all that way to some extent). She's just fantastic.

Karis - youngest sister:
The baby of the family. And the one with the worst combination of her 4 older sisters in one small body anyone could ever imagine. Because she is separated from us older girls by Joshua, she struggles to find her place. She often feels left out. But at the same time she can hold her own pretty well. She has a million friends in our neighborhood it seems and we're never really sure of where she is at. It reminds me of Samantha, Jenai and I when we lived in Racine when we were little. She is growing up way too fast and is absolutely beautiful. She has the biggest dimples, like our mom's. And is a sassy one. She wants to learn to play volleyball and is doing her best to save up money to be able to play on the homeschool team. But sometimes we all just wonder if she wouldn't be a better cheerleader. She is always the encourager on her team whether softball or soccer and soon to be volleyball. She loves being there to cheer people on and hang out with the girls. She is just a bubble of sunshine and laughter (most of the time anyway). I love her and it makes me sad each time I go home to see just how much she changes in between my last trip home. She isn't a little girl anymore that's for sure.

Michaela - my niece:
The most beautiful niece anyone could ask for. She is Joshua's age. She is Brandon's daughter and Aaryn's step-daughter. But that makes no difference to us. She is my niece and I love her tons. She is a smart young lady and loves music. She asked for cds of girl bands for Christmas. She has a strength and a confidence in herself that is inspiring. She can be quiet and enjoy time by herself or she can be loud and lots of laughter while we all play video games. She loves to swim and wants to be on a swim team to compete as she gets older. She has beautiful brown eyes and lots of freckles. And a giggle that you can't help but smile when you hear. She is growing up and it's so fun to see just how much she is figuring out who she is and what she wants to do.

Becca - sister by "adoption":
Becca is Dustin's older sister. I also babysat her years ago. She is alot like Samantha in that she loves photography. She goes to UWM and is studying photography. She sees everything in a different way. Life has a sense of artistry to her and it's her job to find it and capture it. Whether its painting a bench or taking pictures or creating a paper sculpture. She has grown up alot and I am sad to say that I don't know her as well as I know Dustin or as well as I would like. But I am beyond proud of her for all that she has accomplished and the dream that she is chasing after. She is a fun loving girl who loves her family and Pup (the family dog). And she is always ready to be a friend if needed. She loves life and expresses it in a variety of ways. And she is simply amazing.
There you go. A brief look into my sisters and niece and what I think of them, how I see them and how much I love them. They all inspire me in different ways. They make me laugh, cry, think, yell, and whatever else can be thought of for sisters. But they all are people that I love, respect, cherish and look up to in some way. They are heroes to me, just like my brothers are. But even more than that... they are my best friends.
