Part of something bigger - part 1

Have you ever wondered why you exist? Have you ever wondered what your purpose is? Have you ever wondered whether there is a place for you in this world? Have you ever wondered if you could actually make a difference?

I have. And I will again and again. I'm sure of it. It's a part of being human. A part of being caught up in the crazy rat-race that dominates life. At times it's a part of being attacked by the Devil. At other times it's a part of being challenged and stretched by the Holy Spirit. And when the Holy Spirit is the one challenging, stretching and prodding... those are the times when those questions are answered in full and with so much goodness.

You and I exist for one wonderful purpose. It isn't always the easiest thing to do. It isn't always the coolest or trendiest thing to do. But it is always the most rewarding. The most fulfilling.

You and I have a place in this world that was designed just for us. It doesn't always seem like a good fit. It doesn't always seem like we belong. But it is and we do.

You and I have the ability to make a difference engrained in us. It's been there since the day we were born, whether we believe it or not.

Now you may be asking yourself, "what in the world is this girl talking about? Has she lost her mind?" Or you may know exactly what I am talking about.

Our existence, our purpose is for the glory of GOD. You and I exist in order to give Him praise and make Him known throughout the world. You and I were born in order to spread the good news of the resurrection and saving grace of Jesus, the Son of God. You and I have a responsibility, a calling, a job, a mission... to see GOD's name known, accepted, exalted and glorified by people of every tongue, tribe and nation.

Our place in this world is one that reminds us that we are not of this world, we are simply in it for a short time. You and I belong in the Kingdom of GOD. You and I have a place in His family. You and I have a "perfectly designed just for us" spot in the body of Christ, the Church. Yes, sometimes we feel out of place. Yes, sometimes we feel unwanted or unnecessary. Yes, sometimes we wonder why we are included by GOD as a part of the Body of Christ. But when you and I remember who our Creator is, when we remember our purpose, our place makes sense. Our place begins to fit. Our place begins to feel like and actually be home.

Our ability to make a difference is made up of our gifts and our passions (along with a healthy dose of humility, compassion and of course, the fruit of the Spirit). When those are in line with the will of GOD, you and I can see change happen. You and I can see healing take place in broken lives. When you and I put our gifts and passions in line with the will of GOD, we find that our purpose, our place and our ability to make a difference in the world all come together for the good of the Kingdom.

When those things (purpose, place, abilities, etc.) all line up, you and I find that we are a part of something so much bigger than ourselves. Something so much bigger than the world itself. We become a part of the KINGDOM. We take our place with the multitude of believers who have gone before us and will come after us. We become apart of the eternal kingdom that will never fail, never change, never fade.

And what could be better? What could be better than being part of a family that is unified in it's purpose? What could be better than spending your earthly life glorifying and making known the name of GOD so that other's can join this family? What could be better than spending an eternity in worship to the one, true GOD with fellow believers, with brothers and sisters?

Nothing. There is nothing better.

And as believers, we get to be a part of something so much bigger and better than anything you and I could imagine...
