Spreading the Gospel to the Ends of the Earth -
Santo Domingo de los Colorados -- oftentimes just referred to as Santo Domingo, Ecuador. It is the 4th largest city in Ecuador and has a population of over 305,000 people.
It is also the new home of Project New Hope.
I spent my internship in Trujillo, Peru this last year working with Project New Hope and Team Expansion. Many of my posts from the last year are about my time there. Feel free to check out my stories.

In the last few months, plans have been made to expand Project New Hope from Trujillo to other parts of Latin America. Expansion is actually a key part of seeing the Church grow worldwide and a part of the plan of not staying too long once the churches are established and able to lead, grow and care for themselves. That time has come for our churches in Milagro, Buenas Aires, Alto Salaverry, Absalon Vasquez, 1A, 3B, 4A, 5B/6B, 6A and Viru. All of our churches there are strong and ready to stand on their own. They have committed leaders and church bodies who are already actively involved in moving the church and their communities forward. And it's time for our team to start again in a new city, a new country. In Santo Domingo, Ecuador.
Santo Domingo is a 24 hour bus ride from Trujillo, Peru. A long way from home for our team. But it is a city with a great need. A need for hope. A need for light. A need for faith. A need for renewal. And our team at Project New Hope believes that it's a part of their calling, their passion, their purpose to go and bring the only hope, the only light, the only source of faith and renewal to the people of Santo Domingo. Mike and Dani Bukta, the American missionaries I worked with in Trujillo, are leading a team of 5 Peruvian families to begin a new branch of the Project. The families are Jorge and Carola, Neptali and Deysi, Roger and Kelly, Carlos and Maritza, Santos and Juana. Altogether there will be 30 people, counting the children, making the move to Santo Domingo. They will be working together and even changing the strategy a little bit in order to work better together as a team and make a greater impact on the lives of people living in Santo Domingo.
This is an incredible new opportunity for our team. The ministry will continue to go on and grow in Trujillo. Touching the lives of as many people in Trujillo as possible. The commitment our churches and leaders have to their city is one that assures us that the church will grow and do well. It will also be exciting to see what GOD does through our team in our new location.
Pray for the team as they work to pack up and take care of their homes as they prepare to make the long trip to Santo Domingo. The moving date is aimed at the beginning of March. Pray for the mountain of paperwork that has to be completed for all 30 people. Pray for the hearts of those in the city so that they will be ready and open to hearing the Message that the team brings. Pray for our leaders, churches, barrios, friends and family in Trujillo as it will be hard to say goodbye. Pray for the ministry in Trujillo as it continues and grows. Pray that GOD will be glorified in this move and that HIS kingdom will grow as a result.
The team at Project New Hope is committed to seeing the Gospel spread to the ends of the earth, just like in Acts 1:8 where the disciples were told that they would be witnesses to the life, ministry and Gospel of Jesus Christ in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and to the ends of the earth. And Santo Domingo is the next stop on that spreading out to the ends of the earth for Project New Hope.
Bendiciones para todos en la familia de Proyecto Nueva Esperanza. Bendiciones para la ciuded de Trujillo. Bendiciones para la ciudad de Santo Domingo.
